The Cheltenham Music Festival Society (formerly Cheltenham Festival Society) is an independent charity. Its members are the Friends of the Cheltenham Music Festival and enable the Society to be one of the principal Sponsors of the Festival.

The Society supports the Festival by helping with the commissioning of new music, sponsoring individual concerts, and assisting with the production costs of the Festival Programme Book.

In 2018 your subscriptions and donations enabled the society to give £10,000 to the Festival, which was used, in part, to commission Richard Blackford's ‘Kalon’ . This will receive its world premier at the festival during

  • M41: The Strings of BBC National Orchestra of Wales (Sat July 7th, Town Hall, 2-3.15pm)

We also supported

  • M04: Sir Mark Elder & The Halle  (Weds 4th July, Town Hall, 7-9pm)
  • M19: In Place: An extended Multi Media Song Cycle  (Sun 8th July, Parabola, 5-6pm)
  • M45: Chamber Opera: Juliana, Nova Music Opera  (Sun 15th July, Parabola Arts Centre, 5-6.30pm)
as well as the Music Festival education programme and the producton costs for the Music Festival programme book.
