The internationally acclaimed mezzo soprano, Sarah Connolly, will give a recital of songs by English composers for members of the Cheltenham Music Festival Society at Boddington Manor, Cheltenham, GL51 0JT. She will be accompanied by Joseph Middleton.

The recital will start at 3:00 p.m. and will be followed by afternoon tea and a glass of sparkling wine.

Talk and Tea  - joint event with Cheltenham Opera Society

An illustrated talk on ways of conducting opera by Jeremy Carnall

 Montpellier Room Garden Room, St Andrew’s Church, Cheltenham

The talk will be followed by full afternoon tea

Jeremy Carnall is an experienced opera conductor having worked continuously in the UK and Europe since graduating in 2003. He studied conducting with Jac van Steen and Kenneth Montgomery at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague in the Netherlands. He has recently completed another successful season as Music Director of Dorset Opera, a position he has held since 2007.

Jeremy will discuss the ways that conductors obtain their desired responses from performers and will illustrate this examples including video clips.
