The Cheltenham Music Festival Society (formerly Cheltenham Festival Society) is an independent charity. Its members are the Friends of the Cheltenham Music Festival and enable the Society to be one of the principal Sponsors of the Festival.

The Society supports the Festival by helping with the commissioning of new music, sponsoring individual concerts, and assisting with the production costs of the Festival Programme Book.

Nicola Bennidetti

In 2021 your subscriptions and donations enabled the society to give £10,000 to the Festival, with a further £5,000 from the legacy of long-time Friend, Roger Jones. These funds were used to commission Judith Weir's ‘Prelude for flute and string trio" , which received its world premier during the festival in a concert given by the Nash Ensemble, and to support the concert given by The Academy of Ancient Music with Nicola Bennidetti.

The funds also supported the Music Festival education programme and the production costs for the Music Festival programme book.
